You Don't Need Your Knots -- We Knead Your Knots
Wintergreen once referred to a group of aromatic
plants that continue photosynthesis throughout the winter but the term
"evergreen" is now used for this characteristic. Wintergreen is an herb
and most species of the shrub contain an aromatic minty compound and the
leaves and oil are used to make herbal products. Wintergreen oil is made
by steam processing of warmed, water-soaked wintergreen leaves. The
wintergreen plant is found in coniferous areas and the leaves of the
plant are rich green in color and contain a central vein.
Wintergreen
oil is not for internal use and contact with eyes, inner ears, and
sensitive areas is to be avoided and wintergreen oil should be used on
the skin of children, especially those less than 2 years old.
Wintergreen oil can be applied topically to reduce the appearance of
blemishes and to provide a soothing and warming sensation when applied
topically to muscles and this soothing sensation make an ideal component
for massages. Wintergreen leaf contains methyl salicylate an
aspirin-like chemical and is used to help with headache and other types
of pain. Wintergreen oil contains other rich chemical components as well
as methyl salicylate, and it is thus ideal for a warming and soothing
massage.
Wintergreen essential
oil has a prominent scent that is sweet, minty, refreshing and pleasant
scent that will work to uplift and stimulate the senses and cover up
powerful or unpleasant odors.
Wintergreen essential Oil is used in the
Muscle & Joint Pain, massage oil
blend treatment at Oriental Massage Galway (OMG).
